Enriching leads with public data: the agency guide

From a bare e-mail address to a complete company profile — which sources exist and how to use them properly.

A lead with only an e-mail address is a guess; a lead with industry, team size, website stack and recent activity is a conversation. Enrichment makes that difference — and it can be largely automatic.

The sources

The trade register for legal form and location, the lead's own website for services and tone, technology detection for their stack (useful for web agencies), and public company directories for team size and industry. Combined, they give you in seconds a profile you used to google for an hour.

Staying clean

Use public sources, be transparent about where information comes from, and enrich to help better — not to pretend you know someone. Company data is almost always fine; personal profiles require restraint.

Making it automatic

The win is in the default pipeline: enrich and score every new lead automatically, so your team opens a sorted list in the morning instead of a lucky dip. In The Agency CRM the lead pipeline does exactly that: enrich, score, best on top.
